If you’re flying to Paris on Ryanair there’s two things you will need to be prepared for; vertical flight and how to get out of Beauvais Airport. Fortunately for you, we’re here! Here, is how to get to Montmartre from Beauvais airport.
Beauvais-Tillé Airport (BVA) is not actually anywhere near Paris. It’s not even in the town of Beauvais, which is 83km from Paris. It is in fact in the small village of Tillé, home to 1,091 people – not exactly the city of lights.
There is only one established route from BVA to Paris, the shuttle bus. Available just outside the main terminal, the bus will then take you all the way into northern Paris, for the cost of €15,90 and an hour and 20 minutes of your holiday. Of course, there is always a taxi, which will set you back between €120-€160. Uber is typically over €100 too.
The shuttle will then drop you off at Porte-Maillot station, next to the Palais des Congrés. Porte-Maillot station serves Paris metro line 1. To get to Montmartre from here you will then need to get the metro in the direction of Château de Vincennes. You will only need to take line 1 two stops to Charles de Gaulle-Étoile, a mere 3 minutes and then change to the line 2.
Charles de Gaulle-Étoile is underneath the Arc de Triomphe and connects you with the line 6; which takes you to Paris and the A train, which can take you to Disneyland. However, to get to Montmartre, you will need to take the line 2. From there its a quick 6 stops to Montmartre; Place de Clichy, Blanche, Pigalle and Anvers.
In total, it’s one hour and half journey to get to Montmartre from Beauvais airport. At €17.80, (€1.90 for the metro ticket) it might be the same price as you paid for your Ryanair ticket, but it’s still cheaper than a taxi!
Make sure to get off at Blanche if you’re coming to stay with us. If not, book now!
