As most people planning a trip to Disneyland Paris soon find out, Disneyland isn’t actually in Paris. In fact, it’s not even close to Paris. Technically a part of Greater Paris, the park is situated in Marne-la-Vallée, a town 32km from the City of Lights. If you’re staying in historic Montmartre however, the journey to Disney is a hassle free combination of a metro and train.
The blue metro line 2 runs through the southern part of Montmartre, along Boulevard de Clichy and Boulevard de Rochechouart. These two boulevards are serviced by the stations: Place de Clichy, Blanche, Pigalle and Anvers. Most places in Montmartre will only be a 5 minute walk from any of these stations.
However, should you be located close to to behind the Sacré-Cœur basilica in the northern part of the area, you can take the line 12 from Abbesses, Jules Joffrin or Lamarck – Caulaincourt. From any of these stations you can make the quick change to Pigalle to get the 2.
Take the line in the direction of « Porte Dauphine » and change at the station
Charles de Gaulle – Étoile. The journey is only 10 minutes on the line 2.
At Charles de Gaulle – Étoile you will change to the overground RER train, line A. Take the train in the direction of Gare de Marne-la-Vallée Chessy, which is the final destination and Disney’s personal station.
The A train will then take you across (underneath) Paris and then emerge as an overground train in the suburbs. The journey from Charles de Gaulle – Étoile to Gare de Marne-la-Vallée Chessy is around 50 minutes, with 16 stops on the way. The station is a mere 450 metre walk from the park.
The total journey time from Montmartre to Disneyland should be between an hour and 1hr and 15 minutes.
