Orly is Paris’ and France’s second largest airport, and the closest airport to the city. However, being in the southern suburbs of Paris, it can take a while to get to Montmartre.
However, there are many transport options at your disposal, to get you to the historic village in the quickest time possible.
Taxi
A taxi is usually the quickest solution to most travel dilemmas. From Orly it’s no different. As Montmartre sits on the most northern section of Paris and Orly the southern, travelling by car around the Périphérique which circles the city, is by far the quickest option.
At just under 30km distance, a traffic free journey could could take around 40 minutes. This might sound a lot, but given Montmartre’s northern position, it’s actually a reasonable time.
Time: Minimum 40 minutes. Upwards depending on traffic.
Price: A Flat rate of 45€ is charged for going anywhere in the Right Bank of Paris, where Montmartre is located.

There are multiple Bus/Train/Metro options to get you from Orly to Montmartre and more opening. Soon the former Ouibus, which has become BlaBlaBus will make stops in the city. For the moment, these are quickest options:

You can use a Ticket Métro-Train-RER at €2.5 each (€1.25 reduced fare) via your smartphone or your Navigo Easy pass. If you’re a regular traveler, you can also use your Navigo pass (day, week, month or year), a Paris Visite pass, Imagine R, and solidarity passes. No more waiting in line: buy your tickets from your SNCF Connect application.
To get to Aéroport d’Orly station, you need a “Ticket Paris Région <> Aéroports”, on sale on the SNCF Connect app. If you have a Navigo pass valid for zone 4 (day, week, month, year), this can also be used to travel to the Aéroport d’Orly station. A Métro-Train-RER ticket does not get you to Orly Airport.
If you have not validated your ticket and are stopped, you will be fined €35. If you can’t pay your fine on the spot, it will be €65 if you pay it within 7 days (or 20 days on the Internet). After this period and before 90 days, your fine will be €85. After 90 days, you’ll owe the Treasury €180.
